From August 12 to 16, join small groups for a unique hands-on lesson as they accompany a crew of paleontologists from the Royal Saskatchewan Museum on a day’s dig. Your day includes:

Join a knowledgeable team of experts at Grasslands National Park – West Block as you journey to the native habitat of one of the prairies’ most notorious and misunderstood species – the Prairie Rattlesnake! You and 11 others will be guided by park staff to a remote overwintering site used by multiple snake species. Spend time with a herpetologist to learn and search for the Prairie Rattlesnake and other reptiles that inhabit the park. Highlights include meeting a snake specialist for a “behind the scenes” tour of a snake den and learning about the challenges snakes face for survival. Space is limited. Ages 12 and up.
